Critical Infrustructure

Site-specific training designed to protect critical infrastructure sites and manage public risk.

Critical Infrastructure sites are the facilities, systems and buildings necessary for a country to function optimally. Also included are sites that require protection to mitigate public risk – such as nuclear power plants.

The safety and security of these sites is critical - any adverse issues would have a major impact on the availability, delivery and integrity of essential services, leading to severe consequences.

Our courses are designed to support those protecting the high-risk environments that keep our society functioning. Working alongside industry leading experts, we have developed comprehensive training courses to educate the security personnel operating in this often-targeted sector.

Case Study

Provide critical facilities while navigating the high level of internal security processes.

Background

Critical Infrastructure is comprised of sites essential to the day-to-day functioning of a country. Power stations, chemical plants, defence sites, financial establishments and other indispensable facilities need to be protected from forces who look to disrupt our society.

Need

Due to the high risk and sensitivity of these buildings, many critical infrastructure sites have little to no access to the web to mitigate against hacking and cyber terrorism concerns. Building facility systems and IT networks are often isolated, and operated as stand-alone systems. Only those with the correct security accreditation can gain access under very controlled conditions.

Updates or modifications to systems need to be made on site and in person by a support technician. Maintenance visits must be pre-arranged after strict identity verification, and equipment brought into the facility must be registered and approved in advance.

In order to not breach the integrity of the system, an external support technician is often required to instruct a member of the internal team to physically install / upgrade any necessary programmes

Management of critical infrastructure sites found the majority of training providers couldn't or wouldn't send personnel to update their systems on site. Alternatively, customers were charged a substantial fee per visit.

Solution

To reduce the risk involved in employing external trainers, it was clear an onsite computer based training (CBT) system was required. Using a CBT system, Quadratica can provide essential and focused instruction, while reducing the security risk of having additional personnel onsite.

Quadratica stood by the promise that all customers will receive free support services for the duration of a contract, with a certified Quadratica representative available to install all necessary updates or modifications. From minor changes, such as new material for the image library, to major system updates, Quadratica always send trusted team members at no additional cost.

Results and Benefits

On-site training using Quadratica’s CBT system reduces security risks and gives clients the peace of mind they require. Essential and focused training is provided to critical facilities while navigating the high level of internal security processes.

Quality support is provided at no extra cost. While some competitors charge for ‘callouts’ — Quadratica understand the unique level of support necessary in this sector and work with customers to ensure they receive everything they need to operate at optimal security levels.

PPT

Personal Profiling Training

Profiling is a screening technique that determines the security risk posed by an individual through the analysis of travel documents, behaviour and appearance. A degree of non-discriminatory profiling is essential – it allows security resources to be focused on those who present a higher level of risk to security.

Profiling can be a difficult task without proper training. Our PPT course educates security personnel, helping them identify those who present a threat and recognise abnormal behaviour.
